Hi everyone, Sakari P here, producer of Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Ultimate.
Today, I’d like to share some of the features you’ll unlock after completing the main story. There’s plenty to explore once the credits roll, so let’s take a look.
New Difficulty Levels
After clearing Story Mode, a new Nightmare difficulty will be unlocked, offering a tougher challenge beyond Hard.
If you manage to beat that, you’ll unlock Nightmare+, where enemies are even stronger.
You won’t find any EXP items in Nightmare+ – instead, you’ll collect more coins.
We recommend using characters who’ve already reached the level cap.
Equipped Items Drop From Enemies
Defeated enemies now drop two types of equipped items:
- Outrange Items (5 types), which modify your Outrange Attacks.
- Aura Items (4 types), which provide passive buffs to you and your party.
Collecting the same item multiple times increases its level and effectiveness. You can equip and swap them freely from the Skill Set screen.
URA Areas Unlocked
Under certain conditions during gameplay, you may find yourself entering a URA Area, a secret version of a stage with higher difficulty but better item drop rates.
These zones are more challenging, but also more rewarding.
Playable Enemy Characters in CO-OP and Battle Grounds Mode
In both CO-OP and Battle Grounds Mode, 24 enemy characters become playable.
While they don’t have full skill trees, they can be leveled and upgraded, and some become surprisingly strong when built properly.
If leveling everyone sounds like a lot, don’t worry!
You can now run four-player CO-OP solo, letting the CPU control up to three characters.
It’s a convenient way to level up multiple characters at once.
A Note for Xbox Series / Xbox ONE Players
We previously shared that Xbox Series and Xbox ONE would have separate achievements.
However, due to development changes, we’ve unified them into a single achievement list.
To balance this, the total gamer score at launch will be 1,500 points, giving players more value with one purchase.
So instead of buying the game twice, you can earn 1.5x the score with a single purchase.
We hope you’ll see that as a positive!
That’s all for this time!
See you in the next Developer Diary!
